These Associate programs are extensions of our existing certificate disciplines, whereby iNARTE will recognize the potential of new graduates from Accredited Universities, Schools and Training Institutes. iNARTE is currently building a list of these Accredited establishments that will include the Approved Courses that they offer as part of their two, three or four year Diploma or Degree Syllabus.
iNARTE Accreditation for your Institute, College or University
iNARTE currently offers graduates from Approved Telecommunications courses the availability to become Junior Engineers or Junior Technicians. These programs will continue unchanged.
The new Associate programs will apply to graduates whose studies have included EMC, ESD or Product Safety Engineering related courses as part of their diploma or degree, and who wish to pursue a career in one of these fields.
The Associate Engineer Certificate can be awarded to graduates from a four-year bachelor degree program, having achieved a Grade Point Average of 3.0, or equivalent. The applicant will also need to provide a letter of recommendation from a senior tutor or other senior official of the university, who has been familiar with the applicants work for at least one of the last two undergraduate years,
The Associate Technician Certificate can be awarded to graduates from a two-year diploma or associate degree program, having achieved a Grade Point Average of 3.0, or equivalent. The applicant will also need to provide a letter of recommendation from a senior tutor or other senior official of the institute, who has been familiar with the applicants work for at least one of the course years,
Application:
Applicants for iNARTE Associate Certification will need to complete an Application Form to be sent to iNARTE, accompanied by a non-refundable fee. They will also need to further demonstrate their understanding of the specific technology by preparing five (5) original questions in accordance with the format provided in the Application Form. In the event that an applicant has not graduated from an Accredited University, School or institute, or has not achieved the required GPA of 3.0, or equivalent, iNARTE will require that applicant to pass a short, Associate level examination in a discipline of their choosing.

iNARTE Certified Engineers and Technicians are respected around the world for their professional expertise and ethical practices. They are also acknowledged among their peers and the community at large for excellence in engineering and pursuing a program for the independent validation of their credentials. The iNARTE Associate Certification status allows new graduates to join this elite group immediately upon graduation, or at any time before their work experience has accumulated to the full Certification requirements of 9 years for an Engineer and 6 years for a Technician.
As new graduates embark upon their career, the iNARTE Associate Certification will immediately identify them as a person with great potential, who has been independently reviewed and has proven their worth. This extra iNARTE credential will add value to any basic education resume. Furthermore iNARTE Associate Certificate holders will enjoy the following benefits:

- Convenience of posting resumes on the iNARTE website
- Membership in the different Professional Bodies with which iNARTE is affiliated and who support excellence in engineering
- Entrance to various Symposiums and events supported by iNARTE or our Professional affiliates
- Free registration for full iNARTE Certification upon gaining the required work experience
Renewal of Associate Certification:
Associate Certification is awarded for one year and may be renewed each year by submitting the following:
An Associate Certificate holder may renew until they have reached the required combination of education and work experience for full Certification; 9 years for an Engineer and 6 years for a Technician. However, if it is not convenient for the Associate to make the transition at that time, iNARTE will allow two more years of renewal as an Associate before terminating that certificate.
Transition to full iNARTE Certification:
In order to change from Associate Certification to full Certification, the associate will be required to provide two (2) references from a peer group who have worked with the associate for at least one year and will attest to his knowledge and ethical practices. The associate will also need to pass the regular iNARTE Certification Examination in the discipline of choice. However, the examination fee will be waived.
Note: The associate may choose to take the iNARTE Certification examination at any time during the Associate Certification period and if necessary to repeat any or both parts of that examination as often as may be required, except that only one free repeat examination will be allowed each year.
