Once your ESD Certification application fee is received, iNARTE will effect the necessary coordination and arrangements for a testing date, time,
location and point of contact. See the TEST CENTER LISTING for locations.
The examination for ESD engineers or ESD technicians is approximately 8 hours in duration and is
separated into two 4-hour sessions.
All examinations are given "open book". You may bring your own reference material.
Examinations are graded at iNARTE Headquarters and the applicant will be advised of a pass/fail within
15 business days.
Passing score for the ESD exam is 70%. Should a candidate fail the examination,
a retake is permissible following a 90 day period. Examinations may be retaken any number of times,
however, an examination processing fee is required each time the exam is taken.

- Regional Tutorials: Local ESD chapters sponsor regional tutorials throughout
the year with sessions covering a number of ESD topics.
- National Tutorials: In conjunction with the ESD Symposium, the ESD Association holds a number
of educational tutorials, many with content specific to the certification exam.
- EOS/ESD Symposium: The annual EOS/ESD symposium covers a number of technical issues
that can serve as education background for you.
- Special Study Tutorials: In conjunction with the
iNARTE-Administered Certification Examination
at this year's Symposium, the ESD Association is holding two special tutorials to help you
prepare for the examination.
