- Complete the Wireless Installer Application Form and submit application fee
Submission of the application form implies agreement to adhere to the iNARTE Code of Ethics.
- References: Using the iNARTE reference forms, submit 4 references:
3 peer references supporting character and competency;
1 reference from the senior system installer (except that a
technician cannot attest for an engineer).
- Provide specific record of a combination of at least 9 years of education and work experience at the engineering level,
3 years of which must be related to the design, installation and technical support of unlicensed wireless systems.
Provide an up-to-date resume or the completed Wireless Installer Resume Equivalent form.
College study as credit for work experience:
a) Satisfactory completion of each year in an iNARTE approved engineering curriculum shall be equivalent to one year of required experience.
b) Graduation in a curriculum other than engineering will be evaluated by iNARTE.
c) Teaching: Engineering teaching of a character satisfactory to iNARTE shall be
considered as experience up to a maximum of two years.
d) Post-graduate study in engineering may be given credit up to one year.
- Show experience for Endorsements requested:
If you are requesting one or more endorsement(s) to the wireless installer certification you must clearly show a minimum of one year experience for each category of endorsement requested.
These endorsements are:
- Information Systems: Includes but not limited to WLANs, WAN, Point to Point systems (including 24 GHz), Home RF and Bluetooth devices, UNIII based systems, Hyperlan 1 and Hyperlan II based systems.
- Security and Identification Systems: Includes but not limited to Field Disturbance Systems, Perimeter Monitors, RFID Systems.
- Transportation Systems: Includes but not limited to Tunnel Radio Systems, Automatic Vehicle Identification Systems, Vehicle Location Monitoring Systems.
- Provide evidence of education and training.
Official school transcripts are required. Photocopies of applicable training certificates may be submitted.
- Compose and submit 10 multiple choice questions relative to wireless installation design and practices.
- Pass the iNARTE Wireless Installer Engineer examination

All of the above requirements must be met. Items should be mailed to iNARTE at 840 QUEEN STREET, NEW BERN, NC 28560, or Faxed to 252-672-0111.
iNARTE will compile requirements as they are received. Upon receipt of Application Form and Fee (Item 1), coordination of exam may begin.

3 years of which must be related to installing, troubleshooting and repair of unlicensed wireless systems.
Provide an up-to-date resume or the completed Wireless Installer Resume Equivalent form.
College study as credit for work experience:
a) Satisfactory completion of each year in an iNARTE approved technician curriculum shall be equivalent to one year of required experience.
b) Graduation in a curriculum other than that of technician will be evaluated by iNARTE.
c) Teaching: Technical instruction of a character satisfactory to iNARTE shall be
considered as experience up to a maximum of two years.
d) Graduation in a US Military Class "A" School is equivalent to one year technician experience.
