Representatives from NARTE's Japanese Review Committee met with NARTE Director and Staff at NARTE Headquarters on April 4, 2000. NARTE Executive Director Russell Carstensen, iNARTE Board Member John Holmberg and NARTE Operations Director Laura Holmberg met at NARTE headquarters with Shin-Ichiro Kudo and Katsuo Ishihara from the Kansi Electronic Industry Development Center (KEC). This organization is a NARTE Review Committee that certifies EMC personnel in Japan.

The new EMC Accredited Laboratory personnel certification process, the structure of application forms for technicians, and the differentiation of skills between technicians and engineers.

KEC has currently certified 130 engineers and is targeting about a thousand for eventual certification. The KEC Review Committee has been very active in the EMC credentialing arena, and is aggresively pursuing their certification objectives.
